Satsuma

The fruits are quite large and flat. It is seedless, the shell peels off easily and is a type of sweetened mandarin. It is a hardy variety. Most of the Satsumas grown in Turkey belong to the Owari group. It is the most widely produced mandarin variety in Turkey and the main one for export. It is produced especially in the Aegean region. The fruit peel is yellow-orange in color and slightly rough during the harvest period. The fruits are flattened in shape, small to medium in size and are considered seedless. The flesh is dark orange in color. It is a variety with high taste, smell and quality.
